Retail theft arrest

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on a retail theft arrest made this week.

Police said about 9:13 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, security personnel at the Walmart store in Mount Pocono observed a man removing two tee-shirts from a rack, removing his shirt, and putting the two shirts on. He then put a jacket on and attempted to leave the store without paying for the items.

The man was stopped and held by store personnel until police arrived. The man was identified as Carlos J. Silva, 34, of Bangor. He was issued a citation for retail theft.

Police added that Silva was taken into custody because of an outstanding warrant for his arrest issued to Stroud Regional police.
