Getz, Heckelman named MVC Scholar-Athletes

Pleasant Valley's Rob Getz and Lauren Heckelman have been named Mountain Valley Conference Scholar-Athletes in their respective sports for the fall sports season.

Getz was a football player for the Bears while Heckelman was a member of the girls tennis team.

The two were honored at a recent luncheon, which was attended by the honorees, their parents, coaches and school and league administrators.

Others named MVC Scholar-Athletes included: East Stroudsburg South's Emma Menio (girls volleyball) and Joshua Cohen (boys cross country); Pocono Mountain West's Josh Miller (boys soccer) and Ali Davenport (field hockey); Stroudsburg's Jimmy Catina (golf); and Pocono Mountain East's Mya Snyder (girls cross country).
