Legion to meet
The monthly meeting of American Legion Post 316, Summit Hill, will be held on Monday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the post home. Commander W. Kevin O'Donnell will be in charge of the session.
A meeting of the Home Association will immediately follow the post's meeting.
Council to meet
The monthly meeting of the Summit Hill Borough Council will be held on Monday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. in the borough hall. Joseph Weber, president, will be in charge of the session.
Presbyterian Church
The Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, will hold its regular worship service on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 10:30 a.m. The Sunday school will meet at 9 a.m. and an adult Bible study will take place at the same time.
Historical society
The Summit Hill Historical Society members will hold a joint Christmas party with members of the Summit Hill Heritage Center and the GAR Committee on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
The next meeting of the society will take place on Jan. 18, 2012.
Lions Club
The Summit Hill Lions Club will hold its annual Christmas party on Sunday, Dec. 11, at The Lantern, Nesquehoning. The event will start with a social from 5-6 p.m., followed by dinner.
Bloodmobile planned
St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will sponsor a bloodmobile visit by the Miller-Keystone Blood Center on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
Donors can give blood between 2-7 p.m. in the church hall. A goal of 35 pints has been set
Miller-Keystone is the only blood supplier to the local hospitals (Blue Mountain Health System, Lehighton and Palmerton, and St. Luke's Hospital and Health Network (Miner's Memorial, Coaldale).

St. Paul Lutheran
The Rev. Richard Hinkle, a retired pastor from Weatherly, will lead the worship service at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, on Sunday, Dec. 11.
He will deliver the sermon during the 10:30 a.m. service.
The church's Sunday school will meet at 9 a.m.
