Woman is hurt in Polk crash

Marissa L. Sharp, 20, of Kunkletown, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 7:17 p.m. Dec. 21 along Carney Road in Polk Township, Monroe County, according to state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Police said she sustained moderate injuries.

Police said she was driving a 1993 Chevrolet S-10 eastbound on Firehouse Road in the township when the vehicle traveled through the intersection with Ziegre Drive, continued on carney Road, traveled off that roadway and struck a tree with its front end.

She was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, in the West End Ambulance.
