Tamaqua man cited for public drunkenness

A Tamaqua man was cited by police after he was found walking along the center line on SR309, in the area of the Fegley Oil Company on West Penn Pike. The incident was reported at 1:50 a.m. on Dec. 15.

Officers were dispatched to the area and found John Welfel, 19, in an intoxicated condition. He was transported to the station and later released into the custody of his mother. He was cited for public drunkenness and underage drinking.
