Hicks gets golf scholarship to ECU

Jacob Hicks, the grandson of Bill and Mildred Gaddes of Lake Hauto, recently received a golf scholarship to East Carolina University.

Hicks is a senior at Alamance Christian School in North Carolina. He captured the North Carolina Christian Schools Association State Golf Championship as a sophomore.

Hicks' father is PGA Tour caddy Mike Hicks, who in the past has caddied for several high-profile golfers including Payne Steward during his dramatic U.S. Open victory in 1999. He currently caddies for Spencer Levin.
