Feed the People

The public is invited to a "Feed the People" program on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the Summit Hill Heritage Center, 1 W. Hazard St., Summit Hill.

This is a new program being started by community members to provide a hot meal for anyone in need. This will be the first meal served through the program which will reach through Summit Hill, Lansford and Coaldale.

The meals will be served on the first Tuesday of each month at The Heritage Center in Summit Hill, and on the second Wednesday of each month at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansford, both from 10:30 a.m. to noon, and on the last Thursday of each month, they will be served at the Christ Redeemer Church, Coaldale, from noon to 1:30 p.m.

St. Paul Lutheran

St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, has announced its schedule of services for Sundays in the month of January as follows:

Jan. 8 and 29 the Rev. George Zacharda, a retired pastor from Catasauqua, will lead the worship service.

Jan. 15 and 22 the Rev. Robert Brueckner, retired pastor from Nescopeck, will lead the worship.

The church council will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m., and the Youth Group of the church will meet on Sunday, Jan. 22, from 5-7 p.m. in the church.

Coaldale

Communion Sunday

The service of the Lord's Supper will be held during Morning Worship at First Congregational Church, Coaldale, at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1. Sunday School will follow at 10 a.m.

The church choir will rehearse at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4.

Members of the nursing home ministry will visit St. Luke's-Miners geriatric department at 11 a.m. and MapleShade at 1:30 p.m., both on Wednesday, Jan. 4.
