Tamaqua remained unbeaten in girls basketball and also picked up a sweep in swimming to highlight Wednesday's scholastic sports schedule.

Host Tri-Valley reversed a loss to Tamaqua at the District 11 Duals with a 42-32 Schuylkill League Division I victory.

Unlike the 39-36 Tamaqua win at Districts, during which each team won seven bouts and the Blue Raiders had the edge in bonus points, this time the Bulldogs (19-5 overall, 3-1 league) won eight bouts.

Colin Mashack, Brandan Silkowski and Garth Lakitsky (now 30-0) each had falls for the Raiders (11-9, 3-2).

Three different players scored double figures as Tamaqua rolled to a 47-30 Schuylkill League Division I win over Pottsville.

Cassie Eroh led the trio of Blue Raiders in double digits with 12 points, while Maria Streisel and Amy Zehner finished with 11 and 10 points respectively.

Tamaqua remains unbeaten at 20-0 overall and 11-0 in the league.

Weatherly was eliminated from District 11 playoff contention with a 52-33 non-league loss to Moravian Academy.

Maddie Steen paced the Lions with a game-high 16 point performance.

Alicia Panzarella led the Wreckers (8-12 overall) with 11 points.

In the JV game, Moravian Academy came out on top with a 51-34 victory.

Jody Chickey's 22-point performance highlighted Liberty's 51-41 non-league victory over Pleasant Valley.

Chickey scored 12 of her points in the fourth quarter.

Kasey Meckes helped the Bears stay close with an 11-point performance. Meghan Hardy chipped in with 10.

In the JV game, Pleasant Valley posted a 39-25 win over Liberty.

SWIMMING

Saucon Valley-Tamaqua

Tamaqua closed the regular season with a non-league sweep of Saucon Valley.

The Lady Raiders cruised to a comfortable 124-52 win over the Lady Panthers. Meanwhile, the Raiders snuck out of the water with a close 89-87 win over the visitors.

The Lady Raiders win was good for Coach Eric Lech's 100th career victory on the girls side. Schuyler Schmidt (100 and 200 Freestyle), Caroline Kanaskie (200 IM, 500 Freestyle) and Joann Butkus (100 Butterfly, 100 Breaststroke) grabbed multiple firsts in the win.

Jordan Frank (200 IM, 100 Butterfly) and Dane DeWire (Diving, 100 Backstroke) paced the Raiders with multiple wins.

The Lady Raiders finish the season 13-1 overall while the Tamaqua boys end with a 9-5 mark.
