Heritage Hill woman celebrating 94 years
Dorothy Schaar
Dorothy Sarah (Jacquot) Schaar, a resident at Heritage Hill Senior Community in Weatherly, is celebrating her 94th birthday on March 8.
Born in Cementon, Pa. in 1917, Dorothy, lovingly known as Mrs. Schaar, has also resided in Audenried, Pa., St. Petersburg, Fla., and Freeland, Pa.
She worked in Woolworths and for United Charities.
She was married to her husband, Robert, on July 27, 1937 and remained married for 42 years until his passing.
She is the proud mother of two children, Barbara Schaar of Hazleton and Robert Schaar of Benton.
Dorothy's hobbies included helping at church, playing cards, baking, reading, and spending time with children.
She has traveled to many places including Hawaii.
Dorothy is a member of Faith United in Hazleton.
