Deer blamed for Schuylkill crash

A deer entering the roadway was blamed for a one-vehicle crash that occurred on Wednesday in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Danny R. Wyatt, 44, of Sinking Springs, Berks County, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu southbound on Catawissa Road in Walker Township, at 8:20 p.m. when a deer entered the road in front of him.

He swerved to avoid the deer with his vehicle striking a tree stump along the west berm.

Wyatt was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed.
