Music of Abba, Billy Joel at Penn's Peak
Arrival performs the music of Abba Friday night at Penn's Peak. The concert gets underway at 8 o'clock.
"Dancing Queen" and "Tell Her About It" are two of the songs likely to be sung in separate concerts at Penn's Peak this weekend. And although Abba and Billy Joel won't actually be singing them, it will appear as though they are.
Tomorrow night at the Jim Thorpe venue, Arrival brings "The Music of Abba" in a concert starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $28 and $23.
Saturday night, it is Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot Performing the music of Billy Joel and more. The concert is at 8 p.m. and tickets are $17 in advance and $22 at the door.
The Swedish band Arrival is the largest touring ABBA show in the world and the only one with exclusive rights (granted by ABBA's original clothing designer Owe SandstrĂƒÂƒĂ‚Â¶m) to identically create exact versions of ABBA's original outfits.
They have been touring for 12 years all over the world.
Their lineup includes 12 members, two of which are original ABBA members Finn SjĂƒÂƒĂ‚Â¶berg (guitar) and Roger Palm (drums).They perform everything live and they are so convincing that even die-hard ABBA enthusiasts on Swedish radio believed Arrival's version of "Dancing Queen" was really ABBA.
The band recently received exclusive permission from ABBA to perform and record the unreleased ABBA song "Just A Notion."
Big Shot is committed to performing the most accurate reenactment of Billy Joel's music.
Big Shot performs all of Billy Joel's greatest hits and even some of the lesser known tunes that only a true die-hard would know and appreciate.
Mike DelGuidice, the well known Long Island musician and a dead ringer sound alike for Billy Joel, fronts Big Shot.
The other members of the band are: Mark Fineberg, sax, a 30 year veteran with a diversified career in many different musical genres, Ken Cino, a former member of Kid Gloves and a set of strong vocal chords is on guitar, Nick Dimichino, the quintessential addition to the rhythm section, on bass, Carmine Giglio, who has also performed with Movin' Out is on the keyboard and Mike Sorrentino, once a member of Kid Gloves and also part of the musical Movin' Out, is on drums.
