Care Net of Carbon County presented items by Girl Scouts
Several large bins filled with baby wipes, diapers and clothing, plus baby food and toys were donated to Care Net of Carbon County by Lehighton Area Girl Scouts.
"Your items will help mommies and daddies who don't have a lot of money," said Suzi DeMara, director of Care Net.
"Our mommies and daddies will have to earn these items by taking classes in parenting skills and working on their relationships."
DeMara said that when parents have good relationships, they are better parents and stay together to raise their babies.
"You are nurturing," said DeMara. "Nurturing means caring and I thank you for showing your caring by donating all these items to Care Net."
The Care Net presentation was part of the Lehighton Area Girl Scouts Thinking Day program held Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church.
During the program, several Scouts were presented World Trefoil pins and all the girls took part in a friendship circle hand squeeze.
Also the Scouts had displays and foods to sample depicting various countries from around the world.
Scout troops taking part in the program were Ambassador Troop 3383, leader, Geri Haas; Junior Troop 3248, leader, Pam Berger; Cadette Troop 3801, leader, Kathy Hosler; Brownie Troop 3862, leaders, Barbara Ahner and Janet Rimbey; and Daisy Troop 31, leader, Traci Sanders.
