Named squad leader

Codey W. Bauchspies, son of Jeffrey and Pamela Bauchspies, 78 Old Mill Road, Lehighton, graduated in the top five of his platoon with the title of Squad Leader from the Corps Recruit Training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., on April 8. While there, he received training in first aid, general military subjects, physical fitness, Marine Corps history and weapons familiarization. Bauchspies, a former student of Lehighton Area High School and a current student at Kutztown University, is currently enjoying leave in his hometown, after which time he will attend his choice of 300 formal military occupational schools, the School of Infantry in North Carolina. Upon completion of SOI, he will report for duty with Company E, 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines, 4th Marine Division, Harrisburg. Codey is the grandson of Wayne and Shirley Bauchspies and the late Dean and Betty Klotz.
