Safe Haven Pet Rescue
Safe Haven Pet Rescue will have a volunteer meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 6:30 p.m., at Cherry's Sunset Family Restaurant, Route 209, Kresgeville. Local animal lovers are invited to come and have a bite to eat and get to learn more about the organization.
Safe Haven Pet Rescue is a group of people based in the West End of the Poconos, who save highly adoptable pets from high-kill and overcrowded shelters and find them loving homes. The number one cause of death to cats and dogs is shelter killing.
Many shelters kill for space, many kill shy or aggressive animals, many kill puppies and kittens and specific breeds, and many kill owner surrenders. More pets are killed in shelters than by disease or accident.
Safe Haven needs help with dog transport, adoption days, home visits, reference checks, and other clerical help. All Safe Haven rescued dogs are in foster care now. Foster pet parents are always needed in order to save more dogs. For more information about Safe Haven Pet Rescue, to see pets available for adoption, or to find volunteer and foster applications, visit www.SafeHavenPa.org, or e-mail SaveHaven@epix.net.
