Hit and run driver sought in Lehigh

State police at Fogelsville are investigating a hit and run accident involving a vehicle that was reported stolen after the crash.

According to troopers a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder was driven northbound on Highland Road, south of Rheuton Hill Road, in Lowhill Township, about 5:20 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1, when, for unknown reaons, the driver lost control. The vehicle overturned onto the passenger side blocking both lanes of travel. After the crash the driver fled the scene.

Troopers said the vehicle is registered to Jacquelyn Kay Boyko, 30, of Slatington. Attempts to contact her by troopers and Slatington police on Saturday about 6 a.m. were unsuccessful. About noon on that day Boyko contacted Slatington police to report the vehicle stolen, troopers said. She said the vehicle was stolen sometime between Friday, Dec. 31, at 7 p.m. and noon on Saturday.
