A speeding stop led to drug charges against the driver.

State police at Lehighton said Stephen Robert Barclay, 20, of Palmerton, was stopped for speeding about 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 10, along SR248 westbound in Palmerton.

Troopers said Barclay was taken into custody when it was learned he had an outstanding arrest warrant for him out of Allentown.

While being taken into custody he was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

He will be charged with those two offenses.

He was later released to the custody of Allentown police, troopers said.
