Rush Twp. police probe accidents

The Rush Township police reported investigating the following motor vehicle accidents.

On Jan. 9 at 5:04 p.m. Sharon Leitzel, 41, of Quakake, was traveling east on West Main Street when she lost control due to snow drifts on the road.

Leitzel was operating a Toyota Rav 4. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.

On Jan. 8 at 10:39 a.m. Lauren Fedor, 18, Tamaqua, and Joseph Kmetz, 41, of Hometown, were involved in a vehicle accident. Fedor failed to stop at a stop sign at Susquehanna St. and Beechwood Lane.

No injuries were reported. Fedor's car was towed from the scene. Fedor was driving a 2005 Kia and Kmetz was driving a 1997 Dodge.

On Jan. 7 at 3:50 p.m. Molly A. Keck, 18, of Barnesville, was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt and traveling west on Mahanoy Ave. when she crossed over the double yellow line and passing lane into the eastbound driving lane, where her vehicle struck a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Peter V. Butkus, 49, of Barnesville, who was traveling east on Mahanoy Ave. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
