Arts contest
The Woman's Club of Slatington held their annual Arts Contest at their monthly meeting on Jan. 17. The following is a list of student art contest winners:
Student photography, Grade 6, Slatington Elementary School
First place, Taylor Sook; second place, Katelyn Hughes; third place, Zaquahn Ingram.
Student art - Grade 6 Slatington Elementary School
First place, Ian McFarland; second place, Ty Weist.
Student art - Northern Lehigh High School
First place, George Billie, watercolor; second place, Maggie Sauerwine, acrylic; third place, Brittany Peters, oil and photograph.
The first place winners in each category will advance to the Lehigh County level of the General Federation of Woman's Clubs Arts Contest.
Congratulations to all students and thank you to those who participated, but did not place this year. Please enter again next year.
Slatington Lions Club
The Slatington Lions Club will hold their board meeting at the Skeet Club at 7 p.m. Feb. 9.
Lions Club birthday wishes go out to John Babyak (Feb. 5); Danny Ehrich Jr. (Feb. 6); and Charles Sule (Feb. 6); and to Jeff Weidner, whose birthday was in December.
