Man jailed for sexual assault

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Wednesday after being arraigned on charges related to the sexual assault of a teenage girl.

State police at Frackville said Andrew Charles Bakerofskie, 20, of Girardville, has been charged with two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, five counts of statutory sexual assault, four counts of aggravated indecent assault and one count of corruption of minors.

He was arraigned before Senior District Judge Elizabeth Romig, of Frackville, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $100,000 straight cash bail.

He is accused of engaging in sexual activitiy with a 13-year-old girl during the period of Dec. 4, 2010, to Jan. 3 at various locations in Giradville and Ashland.
