Conservation club
The Nesquehoning Conservation Club will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 6:30 p.m. at Maple Shade Meadows.
Plans for the upcoming spring fishing derby will start at this time.
If any member has any ideas or suggestions, please attend this meeting or contact any officer. The 2011 dues are also being accepted.
Summit Hill
Scripture sharing
The weekly scripture sharing sessions sponsored by St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will be held tonight at 7 o'clock in the parish rectory.
Anthracite LL
The Anthracite Little League (Summit Hill/Nesquehoning) will hold registration sessions at both the Summit Hill and Nesquehoning borough buildings on the following dates: Saturdays, Feb. 12 and 19 and March 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The league will hold a reorganizational meeting tonight at 7 o'clock in the Nesquehoning Borough Building.
Methodist Charge
The schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, Jan. 30, is as follows:
Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will officiate at both services.
The adult Sunday school will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the Coaldale church.
Food distribution
The Summit Hill Food Pantry distributes food boxes on a monthly basis to needy families in the community.
Deliveries are usually made on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
The pantry is headquartered at the Summit Hill Heritage Center, Chestnut and Hazard streets.
Members of the Summit Hill Lions Club assist pantry officials in the preparation and delivery of the boxes.

Lansford
Borough council
The Lansford Borough Council will hold two committee meetings tonight. The Parks & Recreation Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. and the Community Development, Planning, Zoning & Ordinance Committee will meet at 7:15. Both meetings will be held in the community center, Ridge Street.
The meeting of council's Public Works Committee which had been scheduled for Monday, Jan. 31, has been canceled.
That committee will meet again on Monday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the community center.
HOPE seeks help
HOPE (Helping Older Parishioners Earnestly), an organization started at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, is seeking volunteers.
