Pocono arrests
Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on the following arrests made by officers recently.
On Feb. 3 about 7:23 p.m. officers were called to the Wal-Mart store in Mt. Pocono for a report that a fight had occurred. Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim who stated the suspect left the scene prior to their arrival. The victim said the suspect became upset when a jar of Alfredo sauce spilled onto the floor and some got on his shoe.
After reviewing video footage officers determined the suspect to be Edeseun Oke, 35, of Tobyhanna. He was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, police said.
On Saturday, Feb. 5, about 2:08 a.m. officers on patrol observed a male staggering along SR940 in Mt. Pocono. Police made contact with the male and identified him as Robert W. Weiss, 47, of Bartonsville.
Weiss was under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody and charged with public drunkenness. He was later released to the custody of relatives, police said.
Police reported on two arrests for active warrants.
On Feb. 4 about 1:22 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop along SR115 in Tobyhanna Township for a vehicle with a headlight out. The driver was identified as Juan V. Roman-Polanco, 23, of Hanover, Luzerne County.
A further investigation revealed a warrant for Polanco's arrest was issued out of Luzerne County for driving under the influence (DUI). He was taken into custody and lodged in the county prison in Snydersville.
On Feb. 1 about 1:03 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle along SR196 at Seven Nations Drive, in Tobyhanna for an expired inspection sticker. At the stop a passenger was identified as Joseph Morales, 19, of Pocono Summit.
A check revealed Morales had a warrant for his arrest issued out of Monroe County for a probation violation. Morales was originally charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He was taken into custody and lodged in the county prison.
