SHCIO to meet

The Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, in the Summit Hill Borough Hall. Debra Ranck, president, will be in charge of the session.

Anyone interested in joining the organization can obtain an application from Councilman Harry Miller or at the Summit Hill Water Authority office.

Anthracite LL

The Anthracite Little League (Summit Hill/Nesquehoning) will hold registration sessions at both the Summit Hill and Nesquehoning borough buildings on the following dates: Saturdays, Feb. 12 and 19 and March 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Legion to meet

The monthly meeting of American Legion Post 316, Summit Hill, will be held on Monday, Feb. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the post home. Commander W. Kevin O'Donnell will be in charge of the session.

A meeting of the Home Association will immediately follow the post's meeting.

Lansford

Meeting canceled

The Lansford Borough Grants Committee meeting that was scheduled to be held tonight has been canceled. The committee will meet on Thursday, March 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lansford Community Center.

HOPE seeks help

HOPE (Helping Older Parishioners Earnestly), an organization started at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, is seeking volunteers. Persons interested in working in pairs in this new parish ministry can call Marilyn Barrett, (570) 645-0370, for additional information.
