Carbon driver facing DUI charge

A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 5:57 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, along SR209 at Hideaway Hills Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County.

State police at Lehighton said Elizabeth Finkel, 48, of Palmerton, was stopped for several traffic violations. She was found to be under the influence of a contolled substance, troopers said, and was placed under arrest. The DUI charge is pending test results, troopers added.
