Legion to meet

The monthly meeting of American Legion Post 316, Summit Hill, will be held on Monday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the post home. Commander W. Kevin O'Donnell will be in charge of the session.

A meeting of the Home Association will immediately follow the post's meeting.

Borough council

The next meeting of the Summit Hill Borough Council is scheduled for Monday, March 14, at 7 p.m. in the borough hall. Joseph Weber, president, will chair the session.

Lansford

Parish retreat

St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, is planning a parish retreat for Sunday through Tuesday, March 20-22. The days will consist of adoration, talks, evening Masses and confessions.

The retreat will be under the direction of the Sisters of the Reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Borough meetings

The Lansford Borough Council has scheduled the following committee meetings during the month of March:

Wednesday, March 9, full borough council meeting, 6:30 p.m.

Monday, March 28, Public Safety Committee meeting, 6:30 p.m., and Public Works Committee meeting, 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, March 29, Municipal Administration Committee meeting, 6:30 p.m., borough office, 26 E. Patterson St.

Thursday, March 31, Parks & Recreation Committee meeting, 6:30 p.m., and Community Development, Planning, Zoning and Ordinance Committee, 7:15 p.m.

All of the meetings will be held at the Lansford Community Center, 1 W. Ridge St., unless otherwise noted.

Coaldale

Alumni Reunion

Reservations are still being accepted for the Coaldale High School Alumni Reunion on Saturday, May 28.

Anyone who has ever attended Coaldale schools is invited to attend.

The reunion will be held at Genetti's Best Western, Hazleton. A social hour will begin at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 5 p.m.

No reservations can be honored after April 27.
