Credit defaults

The following actions have been filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, for alleged defaults on credit card/loan accounts.

Citibank (South Dakota), 701 E. 60th St., N, Sioux Falls, S.D., filed against Carl Mann, 2100 Forest St., Lehighton, seeking $6,669.42.

FIA Card Services, 999 Vanderbilt Beach Rd., Naples, Fla., filed against Joseph Rao, 111 E. Columbus Ave., Nesquehoning, seeking $15,595.92.

Capital One Bank, 1500 Capital One Drive, Richmond, Va., filed against Florence H. Mamuzich, 146 Tiffany Lane, Lehighton, seeking $2,767.70.

Chase Bank USA, 200 Whiteclay Center Drive, Newak, Del., filed against Debra Ziegler, 183 Ziegler Rd., Lehighton, seeking $8,399.97.

Default on notes

Murray State University, 200 Sparks Hall, Murry, Ky., filed a complaint against Gail E. Furches, 14 Hemlock Drive, Nesquehoning, alleging she defaulted on promissory notes. Sought is $1,726.83 plus interest, costs and fees.

Mortgage foreclosures

The following actions have been filed as mortgage foreclosures for alleged defaults on loans.

PHH Mortgage Corp., 2001 Leadenhall Rd., Mount Laurel, N.J., filed against Luis and Maritza Andujar, Brooklyn, N.Y., Walter Andjuar, Endicott, N.Y., and Jose Candelario, Bronx, N.Y., all as heirs to Angela Andjuar, deceased, over property at 215 W. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, seeking $24,154.21 and continuing interest.

The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Co., 400 E. Royal Lane, Irving, Tex., filed against Steven J. and Lynn G. Warhurst, 340 Covered Bridge Rd., Kunkletown, over property at that address. Sought is $149,833.12 and continuing interest.

Wells Fargo Bank, Box 85071, San Diego, Calif., filed against Keith C. and Diane L. Lotier, 1640 W. Stagecoach Rd., Palmerton, over property at that address. Sought is $106,928.33 and continuing interest.

Wells Fargo Bank filed against Allen A. III and Sylvia Steigerwalt, 115 E. Amidon St., Summit Hill, over property at that address. Sought is $66,945.10 and continuing interest.

Contract defaults

First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union, 257 Brodhead Rd., Bethlehem, filed a complaint against Richard A. and George F. Walck, 119 Iron St., Lehighton, alleging they defaulted on a motor vehicle installment sale contract. Sought is $10,362.61 plus interest, costs and fees.

First Commonwealth filed against Alexander G. Smith and Stephanie L. Schuster, 144 S. Main St., Parryville, alleging they defaulted on a motor vehicle installment sale contract. Sought is $16,075.98 plus interest, costs and fees.

Auto crash suit

Lauren Cormier, 52 E. Walter St., Summit Hill, filed a civil complaint against Jacob and Deborah Mertz and Bruce Mertz, 526 W. White Bear Drive, Summit Hill.

The suit states on March 7, 2009, along SR902 Bruce Mertz was operating a motor vehicle allegedly at a high rate of speed with it crashed. The plaintiff was a passenger in the vehicle and sustained injuries detailed in the suit.

Negligence is alleged and sought are damages in excess of $50,000 on each of two counts.

Divorces started

Randolph K. Reichard, 101 Hickory St., Box 185, Tresckow, filed against Dana J. Reichard, Box 1446, Kunkletown R.1. They were married Sept. 10, 1988.

Mikisha Acevedo, 201 E. Kline Ave., Lansford, filed against David J. Acevedo, an inmate at the Carbon County prison, Nesquehoning. They were married Nov. 2, 2007.

Sues borough

Anna and Barry Simmons, 117 Center St., Jim Thorpe, have filed a civil complaint against the Borough of Jim Thorpe, 101 E. 10th St.

The suit states on Sept. 21, 2009, Anna Simmons was exiting a vehicle operated by her husband, Barry, in the area of 117 Center Avenue when she was caused to slip and fall due to the alleged deteriorated and non-repaired street. Negligence is alleged for injuries sustained and detailed in the suit.

Sought are damages in excess of $50,000 on each of two counts.
