Led Zeppelin tribute comes to Opera House

Published March 03. 2011 05:00PM

"Kashmir" The Ultimate Zeppelin Tribute, will be at the Mauch Chunk Opera House, 14 W. Broadway, Jim Thorpe, on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.

Kashmir The Live Led Zeppelin Tribute Experience wanted to celebrate what some consider to be the number one rock radio song of all time "Stairway to Heaven." This is occurring 40 years to the day at the Opera House.

Kashmir is lead by lead singer Jean Violet who not only has what is widely considered one of the very best "Robert Plant" voices but he has an uncanny resemblance to the "Golden God" Robert Plant.

As anyone who has attended a "tribute band's concert" knows these bands have studied their rock predecessors and rehearsed to near perfection capturing the icon band's original show.

All four members of the band assume their individual roles with amazing accuracy. Kashmir brings the stage show, the sound, and likeness to transport an audience back in time to a day when the Mighty Led Zeppelin ruled the musical landscape.

Kashmir features Jean Violet (Robert Plant) on vocals, Andy Urban (Jimmy Page) on lead guitar, Cary Fields (John Paul Jones) on bass, keys, mandolin and Paul Cooper (John "Bonzo" Bonham) on drums.

Kashmir has played over 500 shows performing to crowds as large as 30,000 people and tours extensively.

Doors for this concert open at 7:30 p.m. and the performance begins at 8:30 p.m.
