SCFCA All-Star game scheduled for June 11

This year's Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association North-South All-Star Football Game will be held Saturday, June 11, at Rotary Field, Schuylkill Haven, kicking off at 7 p.m.

Coach Rick Geist of Anthracite Football League champion North Schuylkill is the North head coach. Coach Kevin Keating of District 11 Class AAA qualifier Pottsville is the South head coach.

Honorary captains, team rosters and the 2011 SCFCA Hall of Fame Class will be announced later.

Also announced at the SCFCA spring meeting at Shenandoah East End Field and Stream is that a join meeting between the coaches and athletic directors has been planned to explore the formation of a junior high football league. Formation of such a league would ease scheduling problems and cut travel expenses by playing junior high and junior varsity games as doubleheaders.
