Malpractice suit

Janet M. and Claude Ahner, 210 Avenue A, Palmerton, have filed a civil action against Dr. Mehran Armen, M.D, c/o 1791 Airport Rd., Allentown, seeking damages in a malpratice action.

The suit states on April 16, 2009, the plaintiffs went to the emergency room of the Palmerton hospital seeking medical help for Mrs. Ahner who had chest pain, vomiting and an ache down her left arm. After being examined and interviewed by a triage nurse, she was seen by Dr. Armen. The next day she was released and went to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. There she learned she had a 99 percent blockage in her left anterior descending artery. Later she developed ischemic right lower extremity and eventually underwent a below knee amputation.

Negligence is alleged against the defendant for his treatment of the plaintiff for reasons detailed in the suit.

Sought are damages in excess of $50,000.
