Nesquehoning

Food bank and dinner

The food bank at Meed's Methodist Church in Nesquehoning will be held on March 17 from 1-3:30 p.m.

The community dinner will be held on March 30 from 5-7 p.m.

Senior Boxes will be given out on April 1 10 a.m. to noon.

All seniors are reminded that sign-ups will be held at this pick up, previous and new.

Please bring proper paper work with you along with ID and proof of income.

Lansford

Parish mission

St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will hold a Parish Mission from Sunday through Tuesday, March 20-22.

The Sisters of Reparation to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus will present the mission on "St. Faustina and the Message of the Divine Mercy."

Sunday's service will begin at 6 p.m. on "The Message of the Divine Mercy." On Monday, the "Holiness of Life" will be presented at 6:30 p.m. On Tuesday, the "Sacramental Life" will be presented at 6:30 p.m.

There will also be the recitation of the Chaplet of Mercy; veneration of a first class Relic of Saint Faustina; Eucharistic exposition, benediction and confession.

Transmission bills

As a convenience to the residents of the Borough of Lansford, the annual sewer transmission bills can be paid at the First Niagara Bank, 13 W. Ridge St., Lansford, until March 15.

The borough is also collecting the bills in its administrative office at 26 E. Patterson St. and through mail service.

Summit Hill

Legion to meet

The monthly meeting of American Legion Post 316, Summit Hill, will be held on Monday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the post home. Commander W. Kevin O'Donnell will be in charge of the session.

A meeting of the Home Association will immediately follow the post's meeting.

Sister passes

Sr. Eugene Marie Kennedy, R.S.M., the first vocation from Summit Hill to enter the convent, passed away on March 1. She was 98.

Infant baptized

Corrigan James Crampsie, son of Patrick Crampsie and Amber Zuber, was baptized on Feb. 27 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill.

Confirmation

The Allentown Diocese will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on youths from St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, on Tuesday, March 15.

To be confirmed are Nicole Baba, Sarah Bauer, Andrew Benek, Noah DeMatto, Chad Dubosky, Barry Fulton, Teaghan Goida, Alexis Kerestes, Grant Lorkowski, Jocelyn Mansberry, Macey Markovich, Courtney McCall, Anthony Stianchie, Steven Terry and Abigail Yusella.

A mandatory practice for the students and their sponsors will take place on Tuesday, March 13, at 1 p.m. in the church.
