Thefts probed
State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating the following theft incidents at Schuylkill County locations.
Troopers said Robert Darwin Jones III, of Tower City, reported his 1988 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck was entered while parked on the side of Pine Lanes, in Pine Grove Township. The driver side window was smashed to gain entry and removed as a tachometer. The incident occurred sometime between March 12-17, troopers said.
The 2000 Honda Accord of Cathy Schell, 43, of 106 Tremont Ave., village of Muir, Tower City, Porter Township, was entered while parked across from her home. The criminals attempted to remove a Pioneer CD player from the vehicle by smashing the center console.
The criminals removed a athletic bag which was in the trunk area and contained baseball equipment. The value of the stolen items was estimated at $770 with $50 in damages to the vehicle.
Contained in the bag was the following items: a black, red and white Dimarini 33-inch aluminum baseball bat; a red Mizuno 33-inch wooden baseball bat; a Louisville slugger 33-inch wooden baseball bat; a Rawlings gold right handed catchers mit; a Rawlings players preferred right handed baseball glove-unused; a pair fo black Nike cleats with blue trim, size 10; and a pair of Underarmor neoprene catcher's arm guards, one pair. The bag was a Nike model black with blue trim.
A 2004 Chrysler Town & Country vehicle was removed from the lot of the Dimon Funeral Home, 644 E. Grand Ave., Tower City, sometime between 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, and 11:20 a.m. on Sunday.
Anthony Keppol, of 213 W. Washington St., Muir, Porter Township, reported his 2009 CBR 600 motorcycle was stolen. The bike was parked near his home. The bike is white with gold phoenix stickers on it. It was reportedly taken around 5:50 a.m. on Sunday, March 20.
