Emmaus man escapes injuries

Robert L. Furlong, 41, of Emmaus, escaped injuries in a crash at 7:08 a.m. March 7 on Mill Road in Upper Milford Township, according to state police at the Fogelsville barracks.

Police said he was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu west on Mill Road and swerved to the right to avoid another vehicle when his car struck a concrete light post.

Police said the other vehicle, a 2005 Suzuki Forenza, was eastbound at the time when its operator lost control on ice and the vehicle rotated clockwise into Furlong's lane of travel, causing him to swerve the vehicle.
