Dept. of Health, BMHS vaccine clinic

Published May 08. 2017 02:46PM

The Pennsylvania Department of Health and Blue Mountain Health System will provide a tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccine clinic from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the community room at the Bowmanstown Medical Plaza at 512 Bank St. in Bowmanstown.

You are eligible for the vaccine at low or no cost if you are underinsured (your insurance does not cover the vaccine) or uninsured (you have no insurance). The maximum cost is $5 which may be paid with a check or money order; no cash.

Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis are serious diseases caused by bacteria. Tdap vaccine can protect us from them. Diphtheria and pertussis are spread from person to person through secretions from coughing or sneezing. Tetanus enters the body through cuts, scratches or wounds.

Registration is required. To schedule an appointment, or if you have questions, call the Pennsylvania Department of Health at 570-325-6106.
