Barnesville man jailed on warrant

A Barnesville man was lodged in the Schuylkill County prison, Pottsville, last Saturday, March 19, after police observed him lying on the sidewalk in the unit block of Mauch Chunk St., in Tamaqua. The incident took place at 2:20 a.m.

The male was identified as James Smith, 64, of 11 Walnut St. Smith told the officer he was just waiting for his daughter. A records check discovered an outstanding warrant for Smith issued by the Schuylkill County Detective's Office.

Smith was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.
