Carbon crash

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a two-vehicle crash about 7:41 p.m. on Monday, April 4, along SR209 in Franklin Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Ryan G. Clay, 38, of Palmerton, and Suzanne Parker, 55, of Kresgeville, were both northbound when Clay attempted to make a right turn onto Hemlock St. Her 2002 Pontiac Grand Am was struck in the rear by Parker's 2011 Kia Sorrento.

A passenger with Clay, Christopher J. Clay, 12, of Palmerton, was injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by Lehighton ambulance, troopers said. Clay and other passengers Janet L. Clay, 39, and Tori L. Clay, 12, both of Palmerton, were not injured. Parker and passengers Steven M. Counterman, 12, Alivia G. Schuster, 10, and Logan N. Gerhart, 6, all of Parryville, were all not injured.

Troopers said Parker was cited for careless driving.
