May 3, 1952 Tamaqua's Jack Burcin wins one event and ties for first in another in the annual Coaldale Invitational Track and Field Meet. Burcin cops the broad jump with a leap of 18-7 and clears 5-8 in the high jump to match Frank Zlock of Lansford. Ray Yasson of Summit Hill and Bob Burcin of Tamaqua share the title in the pole vault by clearing 9-9 while Lansford's Danny Leonard also is a co-winner in the 400 breaking the tape in 56.5.
