Chris Isaac will perform June 12 at Penn's Peak

Published May 05. 2011 05:18PM

More concerts have been added to the Penn's Peak schedule.

Singer and actor Chris Isaak makes his debut at the Jim Thorpe venue on Sunday, June 12.

In addition, coming in September is a "British Invasion Show" featuring The Yardbirds and The Spencer Davis Group.

One more show added is Hollywood Nights with special guest Separate Ways the Band on June 17.

Isaac is touring as the result of his latest CD, "Mr. Lucky."

Mr. Lucky is a song cycle about the good luck we earn and the bad luck we just can't seem to shake. Right from its killer opener -- the wonderfully tortured "Cheaters Town" -- to the concluding and uplifting "Big, Wide Wonderful World," Isaak takes us all on a dark but beautiful ride -- one you will likely recognize as your own.

From the beginning, Chris Isaak has earned his good luck the hard way -- by consistently delivering excellent work, both onstage and in the studio on a series of accomplished albums from Silvertone (1985), Chris Isaak (1986), Heart Shaped World (1989), San Francisco Day (1993), Forever Blue (1995), the largely acoustic Baja Sessions (1996), Speak of the Devil (1998), Always Got Tonight (2002), the seasonal-themed Christmas, the Best of Chris Isaak compilation (2006) and now Mr. Lucky.

In between all those album and tours, Isaak has also used his famously sly, self-deprecating wit and matinee idol looks to enjoy a whole second life onscreen.

He has appeared in numerous films including Jonathan Demme's Married To The Mob (1988), David Lynch's Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (1988), Bernado Bertolucci's Little Buddha, Jonathan Demme's Academy Award-winning Silence Of The Lambs (1991), Tom Hanks' rock & roll movie That Thing You Do! (1996) and John Waters' A Dirty Shame (2004).

The Yardbirds are an English rock band that had a string of hits in the mid 1960s, including "For Your Love", "Over Under Sideways Down" and "Heart Full of Soul".

The group is notable for having started the careers of three of rock's most famous guitarists: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page.

The Spencer Davis Group was a mid-1960s British beat group formed by Spencer Davis with Steve Winwood and his brother Muff Winwood. Their three best known songs include "Gimme Some Lovin," "Keep on Running," and "Somebody Help Me."
