May 23, 1948 Stan "Jake" Kozuch tosses a four-hitter to help Summit Hill open the Panther Valley League season with a 6-1 victory over Mauch Chunk. Kozuch strikes out six and allows just two walks in his pitching gem. Walter Zuber provides two hits and knocks in a pair of runs for the Hillers, while Vince Lisella adds a hit and two RBIs. The winners also receive two runs scored from Lavagna.
