A Slatington driver is facing charges, including driving under the influence (DUI), following an incident that occurred about 5:07 p.m. on May 16 along Forest Inn Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Gilbert C. Green, 64, was driving a 1989 Ford F250 truck northbound at the above location and fleeing Palmerton police, when the truck left the road and struck a building.

Green then backed the truck up and struck a concrete barrier located in the lot of the building he struck. He was then apprehended.

He sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene by Palmerton ambulance personnel.

In addition to the DUI charge, Green is also facing a charge of driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
