A Berks County man was jailed this week in Schuylkill County on multiple charges of sexual assault on a juvenile.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Daren Levan, 44, of Hamburg, was arrested on Thursday, June 2, at his place of employment without incident.

He has been charged with the following criminal counts: 10 counts each of corruption of minors, indecent exposure and open lewdness, eight counts of indecent assault, six counts of unlawful contact with a child, four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, and three counts of sexual abuse of children.

He was arraigned before District Judge James Ferrier, of Orwigsburg, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post 10 percent of $100,000 bail.

Troopers said the incidents occurred over a eight year period at a residence along Aspen Drive, in South Manheim Township. The investigation into the case is continuing, troopers added.
