Published June 07. 2011 05:00PM

Both drivers involved in a crash that occurred about 7:45 p.m. on Friday, June 3, were cited. State police at Lehighton said the crash occurred along SR209 (Interchange Road), in Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Cholewa Bozena, 57, of Kunkletown, was southbound operating a 2008 Honda Fit when, for unknown reasons, traveled into the northbound lane and directly into the path of a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Camille A. Luckenbaugh, 47, of Lehighton. Troopers said Luckenbaugh began to use the horn on her vehicle to get the attention of Bozena but did not and a collision occurred.

Bozena was injured and flown by helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment of what troopers said were moderate injuries. Luckenbaugh was also injured and taken by Palmerton ambulance to the Lehighton hospital, also for treatment of a moderate injury.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Bozena for driving on roadways laned for traffic and Luckenbaugh was cited for drivers required to be licensed.
