Break-in, theft incident probed
Pocono Mountain Regional police are investigating a burglary that occurred at an area business and the theft of copper from a residence.
The break-in occurred at the Old Village Trader, located along Pocono Blvd., in Mt. Pocono. Police said unknown criminals kicked open the front door to gain entry. Once inside the removed $311 worth of cash and merchandise. The incident occurred overnight of June 7 and 8.
The copper was removed from a residence of Lydia Bulaon, 7184 Whitetail Lane, Emerald Lakes, Tunkhannock Township. Police said the criminals entered the crawl space of the home and removed all the copper water pipes. The theft was discovered about 10:14 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, when Bulaon returned home.
