Four teams unbeaten
The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission (ESRC) summer basketball league rolled into its second week of competition with eight games highlighting Monday's and Wednesday's action.
R.R. Frey Services and Ryan's Oil & Heating both posted two victories on the week to remain in a first-place tie atop the standings with Guerilla Squad and Cuz-N-Joe's Place.
MONDAY'S RESULTS
Guerilla Squad-
B&R Gym
Guerilla Squad trailed by as many as 10 points in the first half, but ended up pulling together in the second half for a 58-42 victory over B & R Gym.
Dave Wilson scored 20 of his game-high 27 points in the second half to pace Guerilla Squad.
Ted Styka netted 14 points for B & R Gym.
Lucky's Deli-

In a game that went down to the wire, Kupres Twins Photography edged Lucky's Deli 52-51.
Joe Tamagini's 17 points led Kupres Twins Photography.
For Lucky's Deli, Bill Cuff had a career night, draining five three-pointers and scoring a game-high 22 points.
Weikel's-R.R. Frey
R.R. Frey Services began its defense of its summer league championship with a 61-56 come-from-behind victory over Weikel Sportswear.
Jim Barron and Jeremy Frey led R.R. Frey Services with 17 and 16 points respectively.
Mike Stankowitch led Weikel Sportswear with a game-high 20 points.
PVI- Ryan's Oil
Ryan's Oil & Heating tipped off its season on a high note with a 54-45 victory over Progressive Vision Institute.
Kiernan Conway's 15 points led Ryan's Oil and Heating, while Joe Schaeffer and Jon Scheuer also notched double-figures.
Mark Mazur came off the bench to score 18 points for Progressive Vision Institute.
WEDNESDAY'S RESULTS
Big Dippers-R.R. Frey
Big Dippers fell behind by as many as 18 points in the first half, before eventually succumbing to R.R. Frey Services by a final score of 56-53.
Big Dippers had a chance to tie the game at the end of regulation, but their shot came up a bit short.
Dan Miller scored a game-high 24 points to lead R.R. Frey Services, while Jeremy Frey buried four treys.Mike DeMarco's 16 points led Big Dippers.
PVI-Cuz-N-Joe's
Cuz-N-Joe's used a put-back by Joe Evancho as time expired to secure a 69-68 victory over Progressive Vision Institute.
Progressive Vision Institue took a one-point lead when Dave Agosti knocked down a three-pointer with under 10 seconds remaining; however, Cuz-N-Joe's drove back down the court for the eventual game-winner.
Jon Veet tossed in 20 points to led Cuz-N-Joe's.
For Progressive Vision Institute, Mark Mazur scored 14.
Ryan's Oil-B&R Gym
Ryan's Oil & Heating did what they do best and shot lights-out from behind the arc, en route to a 77-59 victory over B & R Gym.
Ryan's Oil & Heating drained 16 treys on the night, including six from Joe Schaeffer (20 points).
Tony Gomez and Ted Styka both hit for 20 points apiece, with Gomez adding five three-pointers.
Weikel's-Lucky's Deli
Weikel Sportswear posted its first win of the season with a convincing 59-33 victory over Lucky's Deli.
After a brief hiatus, John Rizzo made his return to ESRC basketball one to remember, as he scored a game-high 29 points, including four three-pointers.
For Lucky's Deli, Bill Cuff scored 13 points.
