June 16, 1987 Tawny Artz of Lehighton tosses a three-hitter and strikes out five to help the Centennial League advance to the finals of the Carole Weil All-Star softball tournament with a 2-1 victory over East Penn Conference Division 2. The winners push home the deciding run in the sixth inning when Northwestern's Robbin Shreve, who had singled and stole second, eventually scores on an infield hit by Pleasant Valley's Christy Caracio.
