Divorce granted

Joseph J. Alex, Lost Creek, West Mahanoy Township, and Mariluz Alex, Hamburg, Berks County. They were married Feb. 21, 2009.

Guilty of DUI

Brad Elliot Scheeler, 33, Shenandoah, formerly of Barnesville, was found guilty by a jury of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, his third DUI conviction.

He was sentenced by Judge John E. Domalakes to serve one to five years in a state correctional institution and received an additional 89 days in prison on a charge of driving while his license was suspended plus a $1,000 fine.

He also must pay a fine of $1,500 and when released on probation attend an alcohol highway safe driving school, receive outpatient treatment , pay $300 to Substance Abuse Education fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, a $50 monthly fee for each month on probation and his driver's license is suspended 18 months. He was cited by West Mahanoy Township Chief Shawn Tray.

Pleads guilty

Andrew Scott Lehman, 28, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to charges of DUI, driving while his operating privileges were suspended, careless driving, operating a vehicle on the street and having defective head and tail lamps. Judge Domalakes deferred sentencing to June 21. Lehman was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Brian A. Kotzmoyer.

Pleads no defense

Andy Joseph Oxenrider, 39, Pine Grove, entered a plea of nolo contendre (no defense) to a charge of possession of drug parahernalia and was placed on probation 12 months by Judge Domalakes with the sentence to run concurrent with a state prison sentenced he is now serving. On charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana he received a concurrent 30 days probation sentence. He was cited by Cpl. Rahn Richards, state police.

Drop charges

On motion of Assistant District Attorney Rebecca Elo the charges of simple assault and harassment of his former girlfriend were dismissed by Judge Domalakes because of insufficient evidence to proceed which were brought against Brian Keith Andrewsky, 39, Lost Creek, West Mahanoy Township.

Revoke probation

Janelle Moyer, 27, Green Lane, Montgomery County, had her probation revoked by Judge Charles M. Miller and she was re-sentenced on a charge of retail theft from Walmart Store, Saint Clair, to serve three to 23 months in the county prison. She received credit for serving 33 days in prison. She had pleaded guilty to the charge and was put on probation.

Richard Allen Werner, 21, Orwigsburg, had his probation revoked by Judge Miller and he was re-sentenced to serve three to 23 months in the county prison. He had pleaded guilty to using someone else's credit card without permission and was placed on probation.
