Weatherly school teacher dances with a star

Carl Mondero of Weatherly, a fifth-grade math teacher in the Weatherly Area School District, recently realized a dream come true when he was given the opportunity to do the Cha Cha with a famous television star and dancer.

Mondero was able to meet, and later dance, with Kym Johnson, one of the veteran dancers on ABC's Dancing With the Stars. Johnson was the big winner of the popular TV reality show for the past two years first while partnered with TV star and singer Donny Osmond, and just recently with Pittsburgh Steeler's wide receiver Hines Ward.

Johnson selected Mondero from the audience to dance with her on stage at the Mohegan Sun resort last weekend.

Mondero, who is currently taking dance lessons from Con Gallagher in Hometown, said Johnson "made my heart flutter."
