Carbon man facing drug charges

A Carbon County man is facing drug charges following an incident that occurred at the Weissport Borough Park on Monday, June 6, about 7:30 p.m.

State police at Lehighton said John Phillip Ockenhouse, 22, of Lansford, was in the park with his girlfriend injecting heroin together. The female, who troopers did not identify, overdosed and became unconscious in the middle of the park. She was transported to the Lehighton hospital for treatment.

Ockenhouse was taken into custody. Found on his person was drug paraphernalia. Ockenhouse also admitted to troopers that he threw the needle used to inject the heroin into the Lehigh River.

He will be charge with possession of drug paraphernalia.
