Receives degree from King's College
Joshua D. DeBellas, a 2008 Tamaqua Area High School graduate, received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Kings College, Wilkes-Barre at commencement exercises on May 22. Completing his degree in three years, Joshua graduated summa cum laude and was recently inducted into the Aquinas Honor Society. While at Kings, Joshua served as a math and science tutor as a freshman and was a residential advisor this year. He was a member of the pre-health club and Alpha Epsilon Delta serving as President as well as the Sigma Kappa Sigma fraternity. As a member of the Monarch swim team, he broke a 25 year record in the 1650 free at MAC championships and received All American Academic team and individual recognition for having the 4th highest GPA in the MAC conference. He will continue his studies at the Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University in Philadelphia. He is the son of Donald and Ingrid DeBellas, New Ringgold and the grandson of Edith Benjamin, Conyngham and Mary DeBellas, McAdoo.
