Graduate of LVC
Christa Vrabel, daughter of Andrew and Michele Vrabel of Lehighton, graduated cum laude from Lebanon Valley College in May 2010. While at LVC, Christa double majored, earning a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice and one in Spanish.
While completing these degrees, Christa studied abroad for a semester in Valladolid, Spain.
She has also been a member of the Sociology and Criminal Justice and the Spanish clubs, where she served as the vice president in her junior year. She was also a member of the LVC volleyball team.
During her senior year, Vrabel collaborated with her advisor Dr. Hanes and Dr. Goodfellow on a Pleet Grant funded project to examine the characteristics of DUI offenders. She presented the paper along with two other seniors at the national Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences conference in San Diego, Calif., in February of 2010.
During her academic career, Vrabel received three awards within the sociology/criminal justice department at LVC: the Robert A. Clay award for outstanding junior in the major, the Senior Award for Academic Excellence in Criminal Justice, and the Sociology and Criminal Justice Research Award; she has also been inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta, the International Sociology Honor Society.
She has been a consistent member of the dean's list since her sophomore year.
Vrabel is a 2006 graduate of Marian Catholic High School.
She is the granddaughter of Margaret Kucan of Lehighton.
She will be attending St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia in the fall of 2010 to pursue her master of science degree in criminal justice with a concentration of behavior analysis.
