Weatherly couple wed 60 years

Mr. and Mrs. Maurice "Marty" Kunkel of Weatherly celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 12.

The couple was married in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, White Haven, by the late Rev. William Geiger.

Members of their wedding party were Mary (Avilla) Carter, matron of honor; Marjorie Lou (Kocher) Anthony, and the late Nancy (Ely) Luppold, bridesmaids. The late Clyde Kunkel was best man and ushers were the late Charles Gicking and William Kunkel.

Karen (Kocher) Allen was the flower girl and the late John "Jackie" Schafer was ring bearer

Mrs. Kunkel is the former Beverly Kocher, daughter of the late Harris and Pearl Kocher, White Haven.

Maurice is the son of the late Maurice "Yut" and Miriam Kunkel, Weatherly. He is retired from Kunkel's Lumber Yard of Weatherly.

They are the parents of a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Melanie) Zeigler, and a son, Mark and his wife Donna, all of Weatherly. They also have two granddaughters and two grandsons.
