Schuylkill driver cited after crash

Published May 30. 2017 05:05AM

A Schuylkill County driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash at 6:56 p.m. on Wednesday along Church Street in Ryan Township.

State police at Frackville said Braydon A. Mick, 18, of Barnesville, was driving a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 truck northbound and approaching a bridge that restricts travel to one lane. A dark blue Subaru was traveling in the opposite direction and also approaching the bridge.

Troopers said Mick swerved to the right to avoid a head-on collision with the other vehicle and his truck collided with a tree along the berm next to the bridge abutment.

The truck spun clockwise and came to rest facing east against the tree and blocking the bridge.

Mick was injured and taken by Ryan Township ambulance to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital in Coaldale. Troopers said Mick was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
